Tues Sept 15: “How to Study for Biology” with Dr. Kelly Hogan

(Aimed at students taking their first biology course in the department;

emphasis on Biol 101).

Thurs Sept 17: “Studying for Chemistry”, with Dr. Brian Hogan

(Aimed at Chem 101 and Chem 102 students)           

            Details: 6:00- 7:30 in 201 Chapman Hall

 

Wed Sept 23: Group advising for first year students

            (Freshman who are declared Biol majors or who are interested in Biology as a major may attend. Registration required—first years will receive information via email from academic advising.

Thur Oct 1: Career Panel.

Sponsored by TriBeta, the Biology Department, and University Career Services. Open to all students.  Highlighting various careers including physical therapy and forensic science.

Wed Oct 7: Group Advising for Junior Biology majors.

The Biology Department wants to highlight the resources we have available to our majors. Come here more about getting involved in research, talk with a pre-health advisor, learn about services offered at University Career Services, get advice about course selections, learn about our new major called quantitative biology, and more.

            Details: 4-6 PM in Coker 201.

Tues Nov 3: Information Session: Study Abroad for Science Students (TASSEP Program)    The TASSEP exchange program for science students is a vehicle that permits students to study their chosen discipline at a foreign university. The agreement insures that students receive full credit for courses taken at the foreign university. Students pay tuition and fees at their home institution and thereby receive student status at the foreign university. See: http://studyabroad.unc.edu/tassep/ for more information.
